Deliverodent started off as a professional group project in 3rd year, the project itself was a brief that the our team created which was chosen by the client for us to develop. After a prototype was created during this project we believed it had the potential to be taken even further forward for the competition "Dare Academy" which is run by Abertay and has many industry sponsors which come in to mentor the competitors. The game was showcased at EGX London 2023 where we demonstrated our game to the public as well as people from the industry and received positive feedback about the game. By the end of the competition our team managed to obtain the runner up position and I am proud of what we were able to achieve with our game by the end of it.

 

The team consisted of 8 members 3 programmers, 3 artists and 2 game designers, where I was one of the programmers within the team. My main focus throughout the project was focusing towards the objective system handling:

  • Pick up/Drop off points

  • Arrow/Objective icon

  • Scoring

  • Inventory

  • Player Markers

  • Player Stealing

Other than my main focus I also worked on/helped on other aspects of the project:

  • Functionality for the player customization

  • Pause menu

  • Helped with handling player stun
